Linney "Gearsong" Turen
Linney is a 44-year-old rock gnome woman. She stands at 3’4" and 37 lbs, thin even for a gnome, with silver eyes and features that feel too big for her face. Tan skin and copper hair pulled into a messy ponytail. Her clothing can be best described as “steampunk ballerina.” She wields a rapier at her hip and a viol on her back, her gnome-sized instrument equipped with a device known as a gearsong that brings its music back up to normal pitch. A fluffy cat familiar (Snowball) is usually at her heels or curled around her shoulders:
Linney is rarely ever seen at rest. When not rigorously practicing her fighting technique, spellcasting, or musicianship, she can be found working on various tinkering and smithing projects (most often small music boxes). She takes her meals to her workbench to avoid stopping progress and maintains a strict sleep schedule, turning in early and waking up with the dawn.
Linney hails from the coastal city of Port Laetoril. She’s a bard trained in the College of Swords, and a tinker for the Lost Wax Company under the employ of Erthad Windrriver. Her twin brother, Zook “Gearhead” Turen, also works for the guild as one of its foremost inventors.
She comes from a rather large family, although the local gnome community would consider three mothers, two fathers, and a dozen children to be fairly normal as polyamory and blended families are common in such a gregarious culture. As such, Linney was raised with plenty of love but never grew close with anyone in her family besides her twin.
Linney is a hard worker and incredibly disciplined, pushing herself to be constantly improving, and she doesn’t look favorably on those who slack off or refuse to play by the rules. As a businessperson, she understands the value of both public appearance and diversity of background and experience, but lately her sharp tongue has been getting the better of her and eroding her ability to work as a team player.
